our history
Le Mole Sul Farfa is a story of true Italian passion. A vision for a more authentic way of living with a healthy dose of defiance. Stefano Fassone fell in love with the beautiful Roman hills and olive oil plantations as a child and always dreamed of living a life on the land.
Inspired by a deep love for his grandfather’s land, Stefano eschewed all family expectations, and instead invested in a small piece of land near the Farfa gorge.
Stefano had heard about the legend of some ‘caves’ on a centuries-old olive grove but it was only upon further investigation, he discovered these caves were in fact, a Roman Villa dating back several millenia.
This agriturismo is a short drive from the villa and is steeped in history too. Home to three medieval watermills, an aqueduct and a perfectly preserved viaduct. Elisabeth arrived as a volunteer from Belgium back in 2006, the pair fell in love and well, the rest is history.
Today Le Mole Sul Farfa is a happy, messy, charming home to Stefano and his family as well as a menagerie of donkeys and chickens. It is a place to unwind, relax, connect and be nourished. We look forward to welcoming you.
